Gomà-Camps orders new paper machine
(Heidenheim, Germany, Nov. 18, 2016) Gomà-Camps Consumer, SLU, company owned by Gomà-Camps Group and located in Ejea de los Caballeros (Spain), has signed the purchase of a new high quality Paper Machine with German Tissue Paper Machine Manufacturer, Voith.

U.S. containerboard production increased in October 2016
(Washington DC, USA, Nov. 17, 2016) The American Forest & Paper Association released its October 2016 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report, which said containerboard production was 1.3 percent higher compared to October 2015. The month-over-month average daily production compared to September 2016 was 2.1 percent lower.
The containerboard operating rate for October decreased to 95.5 percent, while the year-to-date operating rate of 95 percent was 0.9 percent lower compared to year-to-date 2015. (Source: AF&PA)

Total U.S. boxboard production decreased 2.0 percent in October
(Washington DC, USA, Nov. 18, 2016) The American Forest & Paper Association has released its October 2016 U.S. Paperboard Report, which said total boxboard production decreased 2.0 percent when compared to October 2015 but increased 2.7 percent from last month.
Unbleached Kraft Boxboard production decreased over the same month as last year and decreased compared to last month.
Total Solid Bleached Boxboard & Liner production decreased when compared to October 2015 but increased compared to last month.

Fibria invests CAD 5.3 million for minority interest in CelluForce
(Sao Paulo, Brazil, Nov. 18, 2016) Brazilian market pulp producer Fibria Celulose S.A. announced that it has acquired a minority equity interest (8.3%) in CelluForce Inc. for CAD 5.3 million. Privately-owned CelluForce produces cellulose nanocrystals (“CNC”) on a commercial scale.
The deal includes a strategic alliance agreement under which Fibria has the right of exclusive supply in South America of CNC produced under CelluForce’s technology. In addition, Fibria will be entitled to appoint one member for CelluForce’s Board of Directors.

(Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau, Indonesia, November 17, 2016) Indonesia’s second-largest pulp and paper firm PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP) has completed its third paper mill and set its operational debut for next year to increase production and expand its exports to the international market.

The situation has been ongoing till now, with factories in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai areas responded the most. Klabin’s 3Q adjusted EBITDA increased by 13 per cent to R$585 million ($172 million)
(Sao Paulo, Brazil, Nov. 17, 2016) Boosted by pulp revenues of R$491 million ($145 million) from the Puma Unit, Klabin’s 3Q 2016 net revenues including wood reached R$1,965 million, 36% and 16% more than in 3Q 2015 and 2Q 2016, respectively.
