Lee & Man Paper improved net profit by 28 per cent
(Hong Kong, August 30, 2016) One of the leading paper manufacturers in China, Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Limited announced its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2016. During the period under review, the Group recorded a total sales volume of 2.67 million tons, total revenue of HK$8.37 billion ($1 billion), interim net profit of HK$1.43 billion ($184 million), and net profit per ton of HK$536 ($69), achieving a notable increase in overall profitability.

NIB and Finnvera to finance Fibria’s eucalyptus pulp mill

The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and the Finnish state export credit agency Finnvera Oyj have signed a 9.5-year loan agreement on a $225 million (Euro 199 million) facility that will be on lent to a eucalyptus pulp mill project in Brazil.

Hungary’s UgrinPack to expand, modernize plant
(Budapest, August 29, 2016) Hungary-based cardboard packaging maker Dunapack Kft has secured an investment grant of about HUF 760 million (€2.5 million) with the aim to modernize its output capacity.
Dunapack’s Hungarian offshoot operates factories in Budapest, Du-naújváros and Nyíregyháza. The funds were allocated by the European Union, and distributed among local companies and research entities by the state-run National Research Development and Innovation Office (NKFIH).

Nippon Paper invests in new CNF production facilities
(Tokyo, August 26, 2016) Nippon Paper Industries to install CNF mass production facilities for foods and cosmetics at the Chemical Division Gotsu Mill in Shimane, Japan.
