Belarusian Bellesbumprom’s export to non-CIS states 5.6% up in January-October
(Minsk, Russia, 12 December 2016) Enterprises run by the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom exported 5.6% more merchandise to non-CIS states in January-October 2016, Bellesbumprom’s press service told BelTA. According to the source, Bellesbumprom enterprises exported $102.4 million worth of merchandise to non-CIS states in January-October 2016, up 5.6% from January-October 2015. The enterprises exported about 20 kinds of products made by the woodworking industry and the pulp and paper industry. The export of plywood earned $24.9 million, fiberboard $16.4 million, particleboard $13.3 million, paper and pasteboard $11.9 million, and furniture $11.8 million. The share of non-CIS states in the total export amounted to 42.9% in January-October 2016, up 8.8 percentage points from the same period of last year. Measures are being taken to diversify target markets. The measures allow the Bellesbumprom enterprises to systematically increase their export to promising markets and expand the export geography. In 2014 the Bellesbumprom enterprises exported 28.2% of the total volume to non-CIS states. In 2015 the figure reached 34.5%. By the end of 2016 the share of non-CIS states in Bellesbumprom’s export is expected to exceed 43%. The list of partners of Bellesbumprom’s enterprises now includes companies in Bahrein, Bangladesh, Kenya, Macedonia, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, and other ones. In January-October 2016 export to new promising target markets reached $7.98 million. Bellesbumprom exceeded the performance target assigned by the government by virtually 60%. (Source: press release)
