DS Smith takes over French packaging specialist DPF Groupe
(London, UK, June 01, 2017) DS Smith Plc, the leading provider of recycled corrugated packaging in Europe, is pleased to announce the acquisition of DPF Groupe.
DPF Groupe is a specialist in multi material packaging solutions for the industry and a well-invested corrugated producer. It operates two companies in France, DPF in Rives near Grenoble and Tout’Embal in Alès, and employs c. 80 people. DPF Groupe builds on DS Smith’s capability in growing markets and is complementary to DS Smith geographically.
DS Smith is constantly investing in its growth. Its latest projects were the planned takeover of packaging supplier Parish Manufacturing in the USA, announced at the end of last year, and the acquisition of Portuguese company P&I Displays and Packaging. Parish Manufacturing offers bag-in-box packaging and machines for packaging liquids in the food, beverages, water, and chemical sectors, and P&I Displays and Packaging is a supplier of displays and other promotional products used at the point of sale. DS Smith also recently announced an increase in recycled containerboard capacities at the Lucca mill in Italy, where it intends to replace one of the two machines by a new one.
